Description: • Examine adult learning principles, group dynamics and teaching strategies. •Explore Informed Decision making strategies. • Discuss prenatal screening, nutritional needs and exercise through the prenatal period. • Identify the fundamentals of the labour process in order to choose effective teaching strategies. •Describe various comfort measures and their use. • Examine sensitive subject areas and the risk-benefit approach to education. • Describe the risk/benefits of medications and procedures • Explain the emotional and physical aspects of Cesarean births and VBACs (Vaginal Birth After Cesarean). • Describe the newborn characteristics, postpartum care, and the benefits of breastfeeding. • Discuss the importance of curriculum flow and examining content to meet the learners' needs. • Demonstrate CBE abilities. • Read 5 books from the recommended reading list for certification.
